Guatemala Mission Application
Antigua Mission Dates
January 23 - February 7, 2026

Please complete the application and waiver/release forms. Your supporting documents must be included with your application.

New volunteers: Please provide a brief resume/curriculum vitae (not required if you are a previous volunteer).
​
Nurses
Submit a copy of your current Registered Nurse license.
Physicians

Previous volunteer: submit a copy of your current license.

New applicants: submit clear photographs of your medical degree and, if applicable, specialist certificate(s).

A photo of your passport photo/information page. Your passport must be valid through your stay in Guatemala plus six months.

Note: An application donation of $300 CDN must accompany your application (no exceptions). Should the mission be cancelled, your deposit will be refunded. If your application is not accepted, your donation will be returned.

Medicos en Accion Society's Guatemala team leaders review applications in the order received. You will be contacted by the relevant team leader about your application. Priority is given to applicants currently employed in the clinical area being applied to.

Cost
Your donation covers the costs of shared accommodations, airport transfers in Guatemala, breakfast/lunch at the hospital, medications, surgical supplies, post op and convalescent care as well as other direct hospital costs.
For Antigua, the 2026 volunteer donation is:

Surgeons, surgical assistants, and anesthetists: $1,150 USD per person/two-weeks, $700 USD one week

OR and PACU nurses, audiologists, hearing aid technicians, translators and general volunteers: $850 USD per person/two weeks, $550 USD for one week.
Tax receipts for your mission expenses (application donation, mission contribution and transportation costs) are issued following your submission of receipts after the mission has completed.

Background information

Medicos en Accion team operates on a more intense schedule than you might experience in Canada. There are no scheduled days-off. Schedules and work assignments can change on short notice.

While our accommodations are clean, comfortable and in a fantastic setting, we do rely on sharing space at our hotel. Accommodations consist of casitas (two bedrooms, kitchen living room, patio and washrooms or hotel- style rooms)
